Kadapa bids tearful adieu to Viveka, final rites held at Raja Reddy ghat
Tirupati: People from all walks of life, including thousands of YSRC workers, from across Kadapa district bid a tearful adieu to the mortal remains of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy on Saturday. Vivekananda, who was murdered at his residence in Pulivendula on Thursday night, is the paternal uncle of YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Accompanied by thousands of YSRC activists, Jagan participated in the funeral rites of his paternal uncle.

The funeral procession started from Vivekananda’s residence and concluded at Raja Reddy ghat after passing through the arterial roads of Pulivendula. Thousands of people paid floral tributes to the departed leader all along the procession route. At Raja Reddy ghat, family members led by Jagan offered their final respects to Vivekananda, before the body was laid to rest.
Later, Jagan also visited his father’s memorial at Idupulapaya village along with party leaders and paid respects to former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
In view of tension prevailing in the region, Kurnool DIG Nagendra Kumar and Kadapa SP Rahul Dev Sharma closely monitored the developments on ground at Pulivendula on Saturday.
