Janaki Rami Reddy elected APHCAA prez

Vijayawada: K Janaki Rami Reddy was elected president of Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association (APHCAA) on Thursday. Janaki Rami Reddy defeated V Venu Gopal Rao by 20 votes. Though DSNV Prasad Babu was also in contest, the fight was between Janaki Rami Reddy and Venu Gopala Rao. Out of the total 2,535 votes in APHCAA, 1441 votes were polled. While Janaki Rami Reddy secured 703 votes, Rao got 683 votes and Prasad Babu could get only 38 votes. PSP Suresh Kumar won as vice-president over G Tuhin Kumar with 52 votes majority and V Sai Kumar won as general secretary over Tata Singaiah Goud with 150 votes majority. —Srikanth Aluri
