Jana Chaitanya Cycle Yatra, advocating protection of public sector banks, reaches Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The "Jana Chaitanya Yatra – Cycle Ride", organised by the AP & Telangana Bank Employees Federation (AP&TBEF) to create awareness about protecting public sector banks, continued successfully and reached the Enikepadu area of Vijayawada on Tuesday. The 850 km cycle yatra, held from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati with the slogan "From district to district – between people", aimed to highlight issues affecting public sector banks and common citizens. At a welcome programme, participants explained key demands, including the protection of public sector banks, the recruitment of bank staff, and the implementation of a 5-day banking policy. Former soldier and bank employee Datla NS Ramaraju said the yatra sought to strengthen national banks serving the public. AP&TBEF leaders said the movement would continue against policies weakening public sector banks.
