Iran students at Andhra University seek financial help
Visakhapatnam: Two Iranian women, Soolmaz Mohammadi and Zeinab Mohammadi, who are final-year pharmacy students at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, submitted a representation to the Visakhapatnam district collector on Wednesday requesting financial assistance in wake of the ongoing war situation. They said that they are living in Visakhapatnam with their three children. "Due to the war conditions, we are unable to contact or receive support from our family back home. This has left us struggling to pay rent, cover our children school fees, and meet daily expenses. Although we need to stay in India until early June to complete our internship, the unstable situation may require us to return to Iran at any moment, for which we need money to buy tickets. Our rent has remained unpaid for two months, and we are also facing significant school fees for our children. We seek help to get through this difficult time," they said. In response, district officials spoke to the house owner where they are staying and the principal of their children's school, requesting them to wait until the situation eases in Iran.
