Ganja seized, 6 held in 3 cases

Vijayawada: Prakasam district police arrested six persons including two women and seized 66 kg of the ganja. The accused were identified as Avula Ramu (55), Padiga Revathi (35), Mekala Alivelu (45), and Paturu Narasimhulu (25) of YSR Kadapa district; Korra Sanjeeva Rao (30) of Chinthapalli mandal in Alluri Sitaramaraju district; and Motupalakala Konapu Reddy (55) of Sikbullapur district in Karnataka.According to police, local police were inspecting vehicles on NH-16 on Saturday. Six persons were caught in three different cases during the vehicle checks. Two women and a man were carrying 34 kg of ganja in a car, two others were carrying 16 kg of ganja on a motorcycle, and one person was carrying 16 kg of ganja. All were smuggling ganja from Chintapalli to Chittoor and Kadapa districts. TNN
