VIJAYAWADA: A major mishap was narrowly avoided at Tirupati Railway Station on Monday after a fire broke out in the coaches of a stationary train on a loop line.The incident occurred after passengers had disembarked, helping to avert any potential casualties.According to officials, the fire started in one of the coaches parked in the loop line area. Thick smoke quickly surrounded the bogie, causing panic among bystanders. Fortunately, the coach was empty at the time, and no injuries were reported.Fire and railway emergency teams responded swiftly. Firefighters managed to control the blaze before it could spread to nearby coaches or other trains.Preliminary reports suggest that another coach of a nearby stationary train was also affected, but the damage was contained in time.The exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed. Railway authorities have begun an investigation to check whether it was due to an electrical short circuit or another technical fault.Train services in the affected section were temporarily halted as a safety measure but resumed once the fire services gave clearance.Senior railway officials visited the scene to review the situation and ensure that all safety protocols are being followed.
