Andhra Pradesh: Energy secretary Srikant Nagulapalli to join central services

Senior IAS officer and state energy secretary Srikant Nagulapalli will join the central services for a period of five years. The Union government on Wednesday issued orders transferring senior bureaucrats in the central services, which included the transfer of Srikant.

VIJAYAWADA: Senior IAS officer and state energy secretary Srikant Nagulapalli will join the central services for a period of five years. The Union government on Wednesday issued orders transferring senior bureaucrats in the central services, which included the transfer of Srikant. He would be joining the central services as joint secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Srikant was the first commissioner of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), which was formed in 2014. The CRDA had declared Amaravati as the capital region and started land pooling from the farmers when N Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister. Srikant moved out of the CRDA in the course of land pooling . He was succeeded by Cherukuri Sridhar.
Srikant was posted as energy secretary by the present government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Meanwhile, senior IPS officer Atul Singh has been repatriated to the state, which is his parent cadre. Atul Singh, a 1995 batch IPS officer, is currently working as joint secretary in the department of sports in the Union government.
