VIJAYAWADA: Boys secured top 10 ranks in the engineering stream of the AP Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (APEAPCET-2022), results of which were declared here on Tuesday. Boya Hiren Sathvik from Hindupur secured first rank in engineering stream. Altogether, four students from Telangana secured a place in top 10 ranks in the stream. Vajrala Dinesh Karthik Reddy from Guntur bagged first rank in agriculture and pharmacy stream.
Education minister Botcha Satyanarayana announced the results. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Anantapuram conducted the computer based test in 14 sessions from July 4 to July 12.
A total of 3,00,111 candidates had registered for APEAPCET 2022 in which 2,82,496 appeared and 2,56,983 qualified.
1,94,752 candidates appeared for engineering stream, out of which 1,73,572 students got qualified which is equal to 89.12 percentage. Out of 87,744 students applied for the agriculture stream, 83,411 got qualified which translates to 95.06 percentage.
The AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) said the qualifying mark for OC and OBC students is 40 out of 160 which is 25 percentage.
All SC and ST students who appeared for the examinations were declared eligible.
A total of 1,48,283 engineering seats are available in 258 colleges across the state.
A total of 16,700 pharmacy seats are available in 127 colleges. Of the total seats, 70 per cent will be filled under convener quota and 30 per cent under management quota.
Minister appreciated JNTU Anantapur and APSCHE for completing the evaluation procedures within ten days and declaring results. He said weightage of intermediate marks were cancelled last year as theory examination was not conducted in 2021 due to Covid-19. Counselling process will start by the first week of September, he added.
