Vijayawada: Drunken brawl claims youth’s life

VIJAYAWADA: A drunken brawl between friends led to the death of a youth at Arundalpet area in Vijayawada on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The deceased was identified as Manashetti Manoj (28).
According to inspector of Suryaraopet police station, N V Suryanarayana, Manoj had on Friday evening gone to a bar with some friends and had a few drinks.
He had an argument with his friends over a petty issue which led to an altercation. Later in the night, one of his friends dropped him off at his house. Those who had a fight with Manoj also came near his house and offered him drinks again. While they were sitting on the road having drinks, the earlier issue came up again and led to another set of altercations and Manoj’s friends attacked him with a boulder. Manoj died on the spot.
Suryanarayana said they are in the process of identifying the culprits. He said the case is under investigation and after collection of all evidences they will reveal the names of the accused.
