Impact of the accident was so severe that both trucks were caught up in flames following the explosion of the stationary truck’s diesel tank
Tirupati: A driver was burnt alive after two trucks went up in flames following an accident near Jajarakal toll plaza in D Hirehal mandal in Anantapur district. The victim was identified as Dikshit, a resident of Hiriyuru village. According to D Hirehal CI Venkata Ramana, a speeding truck rammed into a stationary cement truck from behind at extremely high speed near Jajarakal toll plaza along the Bellary-Bengaluru highway.The impact of the accident was so severe that both trucks were caught up in flames following the explosion of the stationary truck’s diesel tank. Diskhit, who was driving the truck which rammed into the stationary truck, sustained severe injuries and was subsequently charred to death as thick flames quickly engulfed both the trucks. Venkata Ramana and his team, along with local fire services personnel, rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. They shifted Dikshit’s body for postmortem and registered a case. Traffic on the highway was temporarily disrupted as authorities worked to clear the charred remains of the two trucks from the busy roadway.
