Digital pathshalas launched in ASR district
Visakhapatnam: Alluri Sitharama Raju district collector S Dinesh Kumar launched two new Digital Pathshalas in the Guttulaputtu and Lochaliputtu. Equipped with computers, digital learning resources, and educational software, the centres aim to create an engaging, technology-enabled learning environment for students from tribal communities who have historically had limited access to digital education. Aarohan, a non-profit organisation, has taken up the initiative.Kumar said that with the support of CSR funds from Aarohan NGO and IRCTC, computers have been provided to these important Ashram schools in the district. "Each school has been allotted 15 computers. For students to have a bright future and for those studying in govt schools to compete globally, digital education is extremely essential," the collector said.
Rani Patel, founder-president of Aarohan, said that digital education is no longer a privilege but a necessity. "Through these Digital Pathshalas, we aim to ensure that children and teachers from tribal and remote communities are not left behind and are able to learn, teach, and grow on par with the digital world," she said. A key strength of this initiative is its ‘train the trainers' approach. Along with students, teachers will receive structured training for a stipulated number of hours to build their capacity in using computers, digital equipment, and innovative teaching tools. This approach ensures long-term sustainability and empowers teachers to integrate technology into classroom learning in an interactive and child-friendly manner, said the officials.
