Dhiraj Singh sworn in as Chief Justice

Vijayawada: Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur was sworn in as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh high court.
In a ceremony held on Friday at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, governor, Justice S Abdul Nazeer administered oath of office to Justice Thakur.
Registrar general of high court Y Lakshmana Rao read out the gazette notification issued by President of India appointing Justice Thakur as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh before he took oath of office.
After the swearing in ceremony was completed, governor Justice Abdul Nazeer and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy felicitated Justice Thakur and exchanged pleasantries.
Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu also attended the event. He met Justice Thakur and felicitated him while having tea.
The judges of the high court, former Supreme Court judge Lavu Nageswara Rao, chief secretary K S Jawahar Reddy, DGP K V Rajendranath Reddy, advocate general S Sriram, deputy solicitor general N Harinath, bar council chairman, Ganta Ramarao, bar association president, Janakirami Reddy, public prosecutor Y Nagi Reddy and others attended the event.
After the completion of swearing-in, Justice Thakur headed to the high court and assumed the office of Chief Justice. Justice A V Sesha Sai shared the bench with Justice Thakur in the first court. Justice Thakur is the fourth Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh high court.
