In a first-of-its kind initiative, Sawang said the department would rope in tech-savvy women to form a team of cyber warriors who can come to the rescue of women in distress.
“Due to lack of awareness, a lot of women are falling victim to cyber frauds. The focus is to make women aware about various cyber crimes to ensure that it is prevented,” Sawang said.

issues and how women are falling prey to online crooks, Sawang said the department is striving to bring police services directly to women instead of them approaching the station. With cyber-crimes rising across the state, cops have launched an awareness programme among students in schools and colleges.
