CM Jagan gives ownership rights on assigned lands to 15L farmers
Vijayawada: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday bestowed full ownership rights to beneficiaries of assigned lands, village service Inam lands, and LPS (land purchase scheme) lands which will benefit a total of 20,24,709 persons. The total extent of land given to poor farmers is about 35,44,866 acres.At a public meeting in Nuzvid in Eluru district, Jagan formally launched the handing over of title deeds to 15,21,160 farmers who completed 20 years of assignment on 27,41,698 acres. Addressing the gathering, he said 1,61,584 farmers will henceforth enjoy freehold rights over 1,58,113 acres of village service Inam lands which were placed under the prohibited section 22-A. The chief minister also distributed 46,463 acres of assigned lands to 42,307 poor people afresh besides handing over lease deeds to 17,768 persons, who were allotted 9,064 acres of riverside lands (lanka bhoomulu). About 951 acres were allocated for Dalit burial grounds in 1,563 villages across the state. Similarly, 22,346 farmers who purchased lands by obtaining loans from SC Corporation under the LPS, will have freehold rights over 22,837 acres, Jagan said, adding that their loans have been waived off. Listing out the benefits being accrued to people through various reforms undertaken in land administration, he said 17.53 lakh farmers have now received permanent title deeds while 45,000 boundary disputes were resolved through the land resurvey which was taken up after 100 years under the YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku Bhu Raksha programme. He said the land resurvey programme has been completed in 4,000 out of 17,460 villages in the first two phases and registrations are being done at village secretariats. “In the last 53 months, the government has provided a permanent solution to the dotted lands issue which benefited 1,07,134 farmers and 1,30,368 tribal farmers. “RoFR pattas giving gave them ownership of over 2,87,710 acres while DKT pattas were given to 26,287 tribals, giving them ownership of 39,272 acres. Full rights have also been restored to 22,042 beneficiaries by delisting 33,494 acres of conditional patta lands from section 22-A. No other state has done so much as Andhra Pradesh in introduction of reforms in land administration, distribution of lands to landless poor, and restoration of full rights to beneficiaries of assigned lands,” the chief minister said.In response to the appeal of Nuzvid MLA Meka Venkata Pratap Apparao, Jagan sanctioned 1 crore to each of the 16 wards of the local municipality for development works and promised to lay the foundation stone for 275 crore mango pulp and processing unit and Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme at the earliest.
