Tirupati: Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and a group of judges including Andhra Pradesh chief justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and several high court judges from other states offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala on Sunday morning.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams priests and officials led by chairman B R Naidu, EO Muddada Ravi Chandra and additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary extended the traditional "Isthikapal" welcome to the Chief Justice of India upon his arrival at the Mahadwaram of the Tirumala temple on Sunday morning.
CJI and his wife offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara inside the sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple for a brief while.
Later at the Ranganayakula Mandapam, temple priests honoured the CJI with Sesha Vastram and Vedic pundits rendered Vedasirvachanam. TTD authorities presented a portrait of Lord Venkateswara to CJI Surya Kant.
