Call to route Tirupati-Srikakulam Humsafar via Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Welcoming the newly-announced Humsafar Express (17439/17440) between Tirupati and Srikakulam Road, railway travellers have requested authorities to route the train through Visakhapatnam city. At per its announced schedule, the train is planned to pass through Duvvada instead of entering Vizag, which makes it less convenient for many passengers in the city.In a letter to the Waltair divisional railway manager, Duvvada railway users' association secretary and zonal railway users' consultative committee member Eswar Kanchumurthi said the train will start from April 13. "It will run every Sunday from Tirupati and every Monday from Srikakulam Road. The train, with modern LHB coaches, is expected to offer a comfortable journey and improve connectivity between the two regions. However, we request the authorities that the train be routed via Visakhapatnam with a stop at Duvvada so that more passengers and devotees can benefit from the service. Moreover, the existing Tirumala Express between Visakhapatnam and Tirupati is already overcrowded. There was a long-standing demand for another train on this route. At this juncture, we request the authorities to consider rerouting the Humsafar Express through Visakhapatnam. This would reduce congestion and provide a more convenient and efficient service to passengers," said Eswar.
