Brain dead girl gives lease of life to 4 people
VIJAYAWADA: Grieving family members of Chinnabattina Mytri Tejaswini (27), who was declared brain dead following a bike accident on Tuesday night, decided to donate her organs, and give a new lease of life to four people. The family members of Tejaswini, an active campaigner of
Tejaswini had received a severe head injury after a drunk constable hit her bike from behind, on Tuesday. She lost control of her bike and hit the median. Tejaswini slipped into coma following a brain haemorrhage. Doctors, who tried hard to save her, declared her brain dead on Wednesday after she did not respond to treatment.
After consulting the doctors, representatives from Jeevandan and the pastor of the church where Tejaswini used to visit, counselled the family members. They convinced the family to fulfil the cause Tejaswini promoted.

Tejaswini’s heart was sent to Global Hospital in Chennai, and liver to Apollo Hospital in Visakhapatnam. The city police provided a green channel for the ambulance carrying both the organs to
City police commissioner, D Gautam Sawang, visited the hospital, and consoled Tejaswini’s family. He assured help from the police department, and promised they will stand by the family. He also assured that the constable who was responsible for the accident will be punished.
