VIJAYAWADA: Three youths died in a road accident at Krishnayapalem village of

Guntur

district on Saturday.

According to the police, the accident occurred when the youths, who were triple riding on a motorcycle, dashed against an electricty pole after losing balance. It is suspected that the youths were drunk.

The police have identified the dead as Raja Saheb,

Shaik

Pahimber, and

Kasu Satish Reddy

. They were all 19-years-old and residents of

Penumaka village

in Mangalagiri mandal.

While Raja and Shaik completed ITI, Satish completed his intermediate. All three were working in a private company in Guntur.

The police said that the trio was returning to their houses after attending the birthday celebrations of one of their friends. They were suspected to be drunk. All three were killed on the spot.

Mangalagiri police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the government hospital for postmortem. A pall of gloom descended on Penumaka village as the news of the accident reached the families.
