The CBI had earlier arrested five persons and filed charge-sheets against them. As many as 12 FIRs were registered against 16 persons for making abusive comments against the judiciary on social media. With the latest arrests, 11 persons have been arrested out of 16 persons named as accused in the case.

The arrested are Avutu Sridhar Reddy, Jalagam Venkata Satyanarayana, Guda Sridhar Reddy, S Srinath, D Kishore Kumar and Suddaluri Ajay Amrut. Sridhar Reddy moved the high court seeking to quash the FIR registered against him and sought interim relief from arrest. The high court, while issuing notices to the CBI for filing counter affidavit, turned down the request for interim relief from arrest.

The CBI said in a statement on Friday that they are taking the help of Interpol and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLAT) to collect evidence and other details about the persons residing abroad. A division bench of the high court directed the CBI to submit details about the action taken against those residing abroad for making abusive comments against the judiciary.
