ASTRAM system to manage Pushkaralu traffic
Rajahmundry: Director general of police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta chaired a meeting to review the preparation for the upcoming Pushkaralu 2027 at the district police officer here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the DGP has directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure the smooth and incident-free conduct of Pushkaralu. He stressed the need for the use of AI-based ASTRAM (Actionable Intelligence for Sustainable Traffic Management) for traffic regulation and planning. He has told the authorities to send a special team to study the recent Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj and prepare plans accordingly. He further suggested for installation of 24×7 CCTV surveillance at all ghats with an integrated command control centre and also to maintain proper communication with state and district border police for traffic control.He advocated for the use of drones with public address systems to provide real-time crowd updates to devotees.He has directed the authorities to conduct joint aerial surveys using ONGC helicopters and utilize services of NCC, NSS, and other volunteers. He advocated for the development queue systems in consultation with TTD authorities and to create awareness. He asked authorities to prepare data on current population and vehicle density in Rajahmundry and plan for future growth. Arrange centralized food facilities (cloud kitchen) for staff working during Pushkaralu, the DGP directed officials.
