Vijayawada: In a significant relief to employees, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has initiated long-pending promotions, clearing 146 posts across various gazetted cadres. The move comes after approval from chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, marking the first such exercise since 2021.Announcing the development, APSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director N Bala Subramanyam said the decision brings significant relief to employees and is expected to infuse fresh momentum into the corporation's administrative machinery.Officials stated that while 214 vacancies were identified, the first phase of promotions has covered 146 eligible employees, with the remaining expected to be taken up subsequently.The management emphasised that the promotion process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner, strictly adhering to govt guidelines. The move is anticipated to enhance operational efficiency while boosting employee morale across the organisation.Meanwhile, employee unions and newly promoted staff have welcomed the decision, expressing optimism that it will revitalise the functioning of the state-run transport corporation.
