AP records 62 new Covid-19 cases as tally touches 955

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh on Friday recorded 62 new Covid cases and two Covid deaths, taking the overall tally of the state to 955. Close on the heels of Kurnool district, Guntur district on Friday crossed the double century mark with a total caseload of 206 cases.


Among the 62 new cases, Kurnool alone contributed 27 cases, followed by Krishna 14, Guntur 11, Anantapur 4, Prakasam 3, East Godavari 2, and Nellore 1. Anantapur and Kurnool districts reported one death each, taking the death toll to 29.

As many as four persons were cured and discharged in Anantapur district since Thursday. As of Friday, 145 persons recovered from the pandemic. There are 781 active cases with the death of 29 persons and recovery of the 145 Covid patients.

Kurnool has the highest caseload in the state with 261 cases, followed by Kurnool 206, Krishna 102 and Chittoor 73.
