VIJAYAWADA: The AP high court on Wednesday dismissed petitions challenging eligibility test conducted to promote Anganwadi workers to grade-II supervisors.
The petitioners argued that English proficiency test should be conducted to all aspirants before finalising merit lists. They alleged that English test was conducted to a few candidates so as to choose selective candidates.

The state government filed counter affidavit in the petitions refuting the allegations. The state government stated that the notification issued for promotion of Anganwadi workers clearly stated that English proficiency test will be held only to the meritorious candidates in the written examination. Justice G Ramakrishna Prasad dismissed the petitions filed challenging the examination, clearing way for promotion of Anganwadi workers as grade-II supervisors.
