AP govt to send appreciation letters to top performing employees
Vijayawada: To encourage top-performing officials, Andhra Pradesh govt has decided to write appreciation letters to the identified employees. While reviewing govt services in various departments through the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked officials to introduce a weightage system to measure the performance of employees at different levels.Naidu said govt employees with poor performance must be motivated, while those delivering well should be identified and encouraged. Officials present at the meeting said the move would improve healthy competition within departments. The CM asked them to send appreciation letters to top-performing employees on a monthly basis.
Taking note of a large number of complaints in the revenue department, Naidu said the department needs a "fresh look" and its "negative public image" must be removed. He said noticeable improvements should be visible compared to the past. Any tehsildars, deputy tehsildars, and surveyors who fail to follow procedures would face strict action, he warned. Stating that public services must remain corruption-free, Naidu said the administration should not reach a stage where activating the ACB became necessary.Stressing the need for better sanitation in all hospitals — from PHCs to higher-level institutions — he said outsourcing agencies would be held responsible if sanitation standards were not followed. He directed officials to prepare a list of hospitals that continued to ignore sanitation norms despite repeated instructions.Naidu emphasised that shortages of doctors should not arise and asked the health department to work with district collectors to fill gaps wherever required. Referring to temples, Naidu asked officials to ensure that devotees did not face any inconvenience. The chief minister also directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water and monitor water quality regularly by collecting samples without fail.
