AP govt allocates Rs 92 crore for Parvathipuram municipality development
Visakhapatnam: The government has sanctioned Rs 92 crore for the development of Parvathipuram municipality. State municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana undertook an extensive field visit to various areas in the Parvathipuram municipality on Sunday. The minister announced the immediate allocation of Rs 1 crore for the development of a major park, as requested by the MLA. Out of the three proposed parks, one will be developed as a model park, with orders to be issued shortly."The state government will take full responsibility for improving drinking water and drainage systems across the state, while municipalities will handle the maintenance of roads and street lighting. The installation of new LED streetlights in urban areas will begin in June," said Narayana.Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijayachandra said that although the town became a municipality in 1959, it has not developed as expected. He also requested that the government upgrade the municipality from its current special grade, given its growing population and importance as the district headquarters.
