Vijayawada: The
Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadline for applications to faculty posts in state universities by a week following requests from aspirants, amid an overwhelming response to the recruitment drive. The revised last date for submission of online applications and payment of the registration fee is June 15, while hard copies of applications can be submitted till June 22.
Higher education commissioner Bharat Gupta said, 29,179 candidates have applied for at least one post so far, while 27,267 have completed the application process. The common recruitment portal has recorded a total of 1,60,314 applications for various posts across universities.
Officials said the recruitment drive covers assistant professor, associate professor and professor posts in state public universities. Of the total applications received, assistant professor posts accounted for the lion’s share, reflecting the high demand for teaching positions in higher education institutions.
As per the revised schedule, universities will display the list of prima facie eligible and ineligible candidates on June 29. Grievances can be submitted till July 6, and the final list of eligible candidates will be published on July 7. Candidates have been advised to complete the application process well before the deadline and ensure that the hard copies, along with supporting documents, reach the respective universities by June 22.
