Another criminal case against ex-MP Nandigam Suresh
Vijayawada: Another criminal case was registered against former MP Nandigam Suresh at Suryaraopeta Police Station in the city on charges of cheating and criminal intimidation.According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint filed by Shaik Moulall (55), a resident of Sundaraiah Nagar in Vijayawada. The alleged incident took place between November 12, 2021 and March 10, 2026, at Uddandarayunipalem village in Thulluru mandal of Guntur district. In his complaint, Moulall stated that he was a member of the CBCNC Church for the past 8 years and that the church's head office is located in Kakinada. He alleged that while the church trust was due for renewal, Nandigam Suresh approached church members and informed them that ₹2.5 crore was required to complete the renewal process.Believing his assurances, the complainant, along with a few church elders, reportedly visited Suresh's residence in Uddandarayunipalem village and paid ₹25 lakh in cash as an initial payment on November 12, 2021. However, the complainant alleged that despite receiving the money, Suresh neither initiated the renewal process nor returned the amount."When we repeatedly asked him about the progress, he kept postponing the matter with false promises," the complainant stated in the report.
He further alleged that the former MP later threatened them over the phone and refused to return the money.Following the complaint, Suryaraopeta police registered a case on March 10 at around 8 pm and began an investigation into the allegations.Police officials said further action will be taken after examining the evidence and statements of those involved.
