As Chandrababu Naidu was heading towards Jaggaiahpet to participate in the party programme, TDP leaders and cadre gave him a grand reception at Nandigama. But soon afterwards an unidentified person hurled a stone at Naidu's vehicle. Naidu was in an open vehicle greeting people.

TDP leaders had mobilised huge crowds as it was Naidu's first visit to Nandigama and Jaggaiahpet assembly constituencies. When the convoy reached Nandigama, Naidu came out of his car and reciprocated the party cadre who were greeting him from both sides of the road.

Thousands of the party workers also followed him from the outskirts of Nandigama town. An unidentified person standing in the crowd pelted a stone at Naidu's vehicle. The stone hit chief security officer Madhu Babu, who was injured.

The security personnel shifted Madhu Babu to another vehicle where he was given first aid. The SPG security personnel increased the security cordon around Naidu, while the local police beefed up security in the outer ring. The police also requested the TDP chief to move fast to avoid any untoward situation in the rally.

Naidu addressed party cadrea and accused CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of following "criminal politics". He alleged that Jagan was encouraging criminal acts against leaders of the opposition parties. He said he would not tolerate violence and sought to advice the police to stop entertaining criminals.
