TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh BC welfare minister S Savitha offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the Tirumala temple on Saturday.
After the minister exited the Tirumala temple one of her security personnel was spotted wearing shoes in the temple vicinity.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams invoked a rule about a decade and half ago to prohibit anyone from entering the four mada streets encircling the main temple complex with footwear and this rule is adhered to by one and all to preserve the sanctity of the temple precincts through which the sacred processions of Lord Venkateswara Swamy are carried out throughout the year.
While the TTD vigilance and security department takes utmost caution when it comes to preventing people from entering the four mada streets with footwear, it remains unclear as to how the minister's security personnel managed to sneak into the four mada streets wearing shoes despite the 24/7 glare of the TTD's vigilance and security department.
TTD senior officials in the vigilance and security department said they will enquire into the incident and take appropriate action.
