Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh high court on Monday granted interim bail to former managing director (MD) of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), Ganta Subba Rao.
The high court expressed displeasure over the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for not including other officers who worked in the APSSDC when the alleged scam took place.
The CID registered a case against Ganta Subba Rao and others in an alleged scam of siphoning of funds through shell companies in APSSDC.

Ganta Subba Rao was named as main accused in the case alleging that the entire scam took place under his watch. The CID arrested him from Hyderabad and he is presently in judicial remand.
Subba Rao moved the high court seeking bail. Senior counsel B Adinarayana Rao argued on behalf of Subba Rao saying that the CID selectively targeted a few individuals with false allegations. He said that Subba Rao was not MD when the alleged transfer of funds took place. Though the proposal was prepared by Subba Rao, it was vetted by a monitoring committee and approved by the government.
