Visakhapatnam: The district authorities erected warning boards on the lands of the Hayagreeva Farms and Developers project in the Yendada area on Tuesday following orders from the state govt.
The state govt decided to cancel the allocation of 12 acres and 51 cents of land to Hayagreeva Farms and Developers in the village of Yendada in the Port City for violating the norms. The govt stated that an investigation confirmed the land was used for real estate business under the guise of constructing an old age home, without adhering to regulations.
It is recalled that the YSRCP former MP and builder MVV Satyanarayana and his auditor friend started construction on the lands originally given to an individual, Chilukuri Jagadeeswarudu of Hayagreeva Farms, by the govt around 16 years ago for an old age home and others. Jagadeeswarudu allegedly borrowed money and did not construct the old age home. The present market rate of that land is estimated to be more than Rs 220 crore. The Enforcement Directorate attached around Rs 44.74 crore properties belonging to Jagadeeswarudu, Managing Partner Gadde Brahmaji, MVV, GV, and others.
The state's Revenue Special Chief Secretary, RP Sisodia, late on Monday night issued orders to the district collector to immediately reclaim the land. In a memo to the collector, it was noted that after the land allocation, the original intent was disregarded, and several violations were identified. Instead of building homes for the elderly and orphans, 90% of the land was sold, contrary to the intended 54% construction, which is against the land allocation regulations.
The real estate business was conducted under the pretense of serving the elderly and orphans. Based on the facts revealed in the investigation, the district collector was ordered to cancel the allocation and reclaim the land. After receiving the orders, district collector MN Harendira Prasad instructed the staff to erect the boards of warning, revealing that the land belongs to the govt.
