TIRUPATI: Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu assured speedy investigation in the mysterious disappearance and subsequent death of a 6 year old girl reported at Punganur in Chittoor district on September 29.
State home minister Vangalapudi Anitha, minorities minister NMD Farooq and transport minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy along with TDP's Punganur constituency in-charge Challa Ramachandra Reddy (Babu) met the family members of the deceased girl and extended their condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family.
CM spoke to the victim's family through phone on Sunday and assured them that the investigation in the case will be sped up and justice will be rendered to the family. Naidu also assured of all necessary govt support to the bereaved family.
Speaking to reporters later, home minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed concerns over the manner in which the girl who was playing around with her friends near her house on 29th September suddenly disappeared and was later on found dead under mysterious circumstances.
"Chittoor district police have sped up investigation into the case and three suspects have already been taken into custody", home minister clarified.
State transport minister found fault with the YSRCP for trying to politicise the innocent girl's death for obvious political gains. "The YSRCP govt when it was in power did nothing concrete for womens safety", he lamented.
Meanwhile, former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Punganur on Oct 9 and meet the family members of the deceased girl.
