Vijayawada: A total of 58 degrees, including 49 MBBS undergraduate degrees, five MD/MS postgraduate degrees, and four post-doctoral certificate course degrees, will be awarded to medical students at the second convocation of AIIMS Mangalagiri, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, said AIIMS Mangalagiri Executive Director Professor Dr Ahanthem Santa Singh. He said that minister of state for health and family welfare Anupriya Patel and education minister Nara Lokesh will participate in the convocation and present the degrees to the students.
Addressing a press conference at the Mangalagiri AIIMS premises on Monday, Dr Ahanthem Santa Singh said that, beginning with this convocation ceremony, the institute will award 3 medals for the MBBS undergraduate degree students under the Best Achievement, Best All-Rounder, and Best Intern categories.

Dr Ahanthem Santa Singh said the convocation degrees will be awarded to MBBS graduates of the 2019 batch, while the medical institute is set to confer degrees on the maiden PG batch students. AIIMS Mangalagiri president major general Dr Tapan Kumar Saha will preside over the convocation ceremony, which will commence at 4 pm on Tuesday at the institute premises.
