Visakhapatnam: Adali, a newly developed viewpoint in Parvathipuram-Manyam district, will be inaugurated on World Tourism Day, which falls on Sep 27. The viewpoint, located at the highest altitude in the district, is adjacent to sparsely populated tribal hamlets.
Visitors can see the Hiramandalam reservoir, constructed across Vamsadhara river, along with other scenic locations from this point. Parvathipuram-Manyam officials plan to transform it into a popular tourist destination, which is about 150 kilometres from Vizag.
District collector A Shyam Prasad has directed officials to celebrate World Tourism Day on a grand scale. During a review meeting at his office on Saturday, he wanted the celebrations to be environment-friendly and highlight the district's tourism, culture, and traditions.
"Vehicle traffic and parking should be well-managed at Adali viewpoint. Directional signs should be placed at all turns. Selfie points should be set up. The viewpoint should be well-maintained. A QR code should be created to provide information about the viewpoint and its facilities. Arrangements should be made to showcase tribal art forms. A food festival should be organised, ensuring high-quality food to attract tourists," Prasad told officials.
The inauguration of Adali viewpoint will be held at 10 am on Sep 27, followed by the World Tourism Festival at NTR adventure park at 3 pm. Parvathipuram in-charge ITDA project officer Ashutosh Srivastava, Srikakulam ITDA in-charge project officer S Yashwant Kumar Reddy, tourism officer Narayana Rao, Srikakulam ITDA assistant project officer G Chinababu, and Adali viewpoint representative Vijay were also present at the review meeting.
