2,591 graduate at SPMVV’s 22nd convocation in Tirupati

Tirupati: The campus of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) was filled with pride and tradition as the university hosted its 22nd annual convocation.Andhra Pradesh governor S Abdul Nazeer presided over the convocation ceremony held at the Indira Priyadarshini auditorium, celebrating the academic achievements of thousands of young women and reinforcing the institution's role as a beacon of women's education in India.
In a significant highlight of the day, the university conferred an honorary doctor of science (DSc) upon the chief guest, Sashikala Sinha, an outstanding scientist from DRDO's research centre imarat (RCI).Known as the "missile woman" for her pivotal role in India's Ballistic Missile Defence programme, Ms Sinha delivered an inspiring convocation address, urging graduates to break glass ceilings in STEM and research.This year's convocation saw a record number of graduates crossing the stage. Vice-chancellor Prof V Uma presented the university's annual report, highlighting the institution's growth in research and global rankings.A total of 2,591 graduates received their degrees, doctorates were awarded to 121 PhD scholars, and gold medals were awarded to about 102 students."Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
