Andhra Pradesh: 2,100 kg ganja worth Rs 2 crore seized, 8 held

KAKINADA: In one of the biggest ganja seizures, East Godavari police seized 2,100 kg of ganja worth nearly Rs 2 crore in two separate incidents and arrested eight persons.
In the first incident, the police force intercepted two vans at Polavaram canal on the outskirts of Burugupudi village in Kirlampudi mandal in East Godavari district and arrested five persons.Police seized a total of 1,731 kg of ganja from the two vehicles. Cops arrested Korra Prasad from Visakhapatnam district, Kasi Mayan Kumar from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Sunnapu Raju from Sangareddy in Telangana, Vasamsetty Veera Babu from East Godavari district and Gollori Hari Babu from Visakhapatnam district.
In the second incident, East Godavari police seized 360 kg of ganja worth Rs 14.40 lakh in Jonnada village under Alamuru mandal and arrested three persons. The accused were transporting ganja in 18 bags in a van. The arrested were Jamaluddin,and Konjumor Mohin, both from Kerala and Ravindra Bhuvanendra of Tamil Nadu.
