Vemireddy asserted that the TDP-led NDA govt was committed to achieving 50% green cover in Andhra Pradesh by 2047 as part of the "Swarna Andhra 2047 vision". "Currently, Andhra Pradesh maintains 30% green cover, while Nellore district stands at 22%. The govt aims to bridge this gap aggressively over the next two decades," Nellore MP added.Anam Ramanarayana Reddy called for more "Urban Forests" (Nagara Vanalu) across the 50-acre college campus to combat rising pollution. He noted that these urban forests are critical to achieving sustainable development and providing a shield against the rising pollution levels seen in major cities like Delhi. The programme concluded with a call to action for local residents and voluntary organisations to partner with the govt in expanding such green pockets across the state.
