TIRUPATI: Two people were killed after the car they were travelling in rammed into a road divider near Kodandaramapuram village in Chandragiri mandal along the Nayudupet-Puthalapattu highway in Andhra Pradesh, on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Srinivas (30) and Arshad (29), both residents of Kondamitta locality at Chittoor.

According to police, the mishap took place when the duo were returning to Chittoor.

Police said the speeding car rammed into a road divider near Kodandaramapuram village in Chandragiri mandal early morning.

While Srinivas and Arshad died on the spot, the critically wounded driver of the car, identified as Prabhakar, was rushed to the government hospital for treatment.

Chandragiri police registered a case and shifted the body of the deceased for postmortem.
