VARANASI: Girls toppled boys again in the district to secure top positions in the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) board results for class X and XII that were announced on Wednesday. According to reports, Raj Laxmi (97.8 per cent) in class X and Shivani Maurya (96.5 per cent) in class XII, both from St Joseph school, Madauli (Shivpur) secured top positions in the district.
The trend of girls getting at the top also continued in WH Smith Memorial School that registered 100 per cent results in these examinations. According to Anita Dey, principal of the school, Radhika Mittal (95.4 per cent) in class X and Saloni Srivastava (95.75 per cent) in class XII secured top positions in the school in these examinations. However, St John's School, Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) turned out to be the only school in the region with boys securing top positions in these examinations. According to the principal of the school Fr Susai Raj, Manish Mehta (96.43 per cent) in class X and Shubham Shukla (94.17 per cent) in Class XII topped in the examinations from the school.
