Women achievers receive Matri Shakti Samman

Gorakhpur: women achievers were honoured with Late Uma Rani Banerjee Memorial Matri Shakti Samman 2026 by social and literary organisation Aadharshila, at conference hall of Mahatma Gandhi Inter College, on the eve of International Women's Day, on Saturday.Chief guest UP State Women's Commission vice chairperson Charu Chaudhary said success of every woman became source of inspiration not only for other women but for the entire society. Globally, the day is dedicated to recognising women's achievements and their invaluable contributions in different fields.
Among those present were programme chairperson and senior social worker Mankeshwar Nath Pandey, patron Prof A K Singh, president Roop Kumar Banerjee, secretary Deepak Chakravarty Nishant and social worker Chaitali Banerjee.Classical and semi-classical singer Hridaya Tripathi presented a welcome song, accompanied by tabla player Jay Dey, while Dr Sarita Singh recited a self-composed poem.Reena Jaiswal and Priya Kumari were among those honoured with the award on the occasion.Speakers emphasised that empowering and educating women is essential for progress of society and the nation.
