Woman’s partially burnt body found in Maharajganj village
Gorakhpur: A partially burnt body of an unidentified woman was found near a canal on the outskirts of Semra Chandrauli village under Shyamdeurva police station in Maharajganj on Wednesday. On receiving information, a police team led by ASP Siddharth, circle officer Ankur Gautam and SHO Abhishek Singh reached the spot and inspected the scene. Police said the woman is believed to be around 35 years old and married. Her face, hands, and body were severely charred, making identification difficult.A forensic team has been deployed to collect evidence, while police are questioning locals and trying to establish the deceased’s identity. The body has been sent for postmortem examination.Preliminary investigation suggests that some miscreants might have killed the woman elsewhere before dumping and setting the body on fire at the site.
