Woman sets self on fire, dies

VARANASI: A 23-year-old woman, Preeti Singh, committed suicide by setting herself on fire in Khushalpur under Shivpur police station on Sunday night.
According to reports, the other family members had gone to attend some wedding function on Sunday night. They found her dead on their return on Monday morning. The police also arrived there.
Following a complaint of the parents, police lodged a dowry death case against the in-laws.Four persons -- Preeti's husband Ashish Singh and his parents and sister-in-law -- were detained for interrogation. The police were investigating the matter.
