Woman burnt for dowry

GORAKHPUR: A woman was allegedly burnt by her husband at Jungle Tulsipur in Shahpur on Saturday morning. She succumbed to burn injuries at the medical college on Sunday.
Anupama Rai (32), was married to Deepak Rai three years ago. The couple had an 18-month-old daughter. Her cousin Brijesh has accused Deepak of killing her for dowry. According to him, a few months ago, Anupama had gone to her mother's house in Sikriganj and said Deepak was torturing her for selling her share of property in her parental house.
Deepak had come to take her back just a few days ago with a promise that he would not treat her badly.
The body has been sent for postmortem examination. t
