VARANASI: A land of Rs 2.50 crore registered in the name of parents of Vikas Mishra- an active member of jailed muscleman politician Vijay Mishra- was attached by district administration and police while initiating action under Gangster Act in Kaulapur under the limits of Gopiganj police station in Bhadohi district on Saturday.

SP Bhadohi Anil Kumar said that under the on-going drive to destroy the economic empire if the gangsters police had got inputs regarding forcibly grabbing of 1.7370 hectare land of a person by Vijay Mishra’s gang member Vikas. During further investigation of police it came to light that Vikas had ensured registration of this property in the name of his parents Pushplata and Prakash Chandra, he said.

The owner of this land had been forced by Vikas to register his property in the name of his parents by issuing threats of dire consequences, said police adding, following these developments a report was sent to district magistrate, who ordered for confiscation of this property of Rs 2.50 crore value under Gangster Act.

To execute the same order of DM Bhadohi a joint team of the officials of district administration, police and land revenue department reached Kaulapur village on Saturday and completed the legal formalities of confiscation.

Mishra with 83 criminal cases in his history sheet is currently lodged at Agra jail.
