VARANASI: Azamgarh MP-MLA court of special judge Omprakash Sharma-III on Friday sentenced four accused, including former minister Angad Yadav, to life in advocate Rajnarayan Singh murder case.

Along with Angad Yadav, the other accused - Sunil Singh, Arun Yadav and Shailesh alias Teni - have been found guilty and sentenced accordingly by the court. The court imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each.

Congress leader and advocate Rajnarayan Singh was shot on December 19, 2015, in Azamgarh.

Azamgarh admin attaches Yadav's Rs 40 lakh property
The murder took place when Rajnarayan was out on morning walk. Some unknown motorcycle-borne miscreants attacked him with rapid firing. Rajnarayan died on the spot while the attackers fled from the scene.

In this case, Sudha Singh, wife of the deceased Rajnarayan, had filed a case against Angad Yadav and Sunil Singh, a resident of Sammopur village of Bardah area, and unknown people. A few days after the murder, Angad Yadav surrendered at the Sidhari police station. His bail plea was also rejected by the Supreme Court.

The Azamgarh district administration had also attached his property worth over Rs. 40 lakhs in Sidhari police station area in January this year.
