VARANASI: A property dealer Pyarelal Yadav was shot dead after which former UP minister

district for several hours on Sunday afternoon.

Few hours before this incident a former gram pradhan (village head) Sanjay Maurya was also killed in indiscriminate firing by motorcycle borne miscreants in Jalalpur area of Jaunpur.

According to reports, Pyarelal of Lakhauva Bazar was talking to somebody near his residence when the motorcycle borne miscreants raided the place and sprayed bullets at him. He died on the spot. The incident led to panic in the market. Within few minutes hundreds of local natives and traders gathered near the body.

On getting information former UP minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Parasnath Yadav also reached there. They blocked the highway. After exercising hard officials of district administration and police succeeded to convince Parasnath to call off his stir.

The SP Baksha Shiv Shankar Singh said, the family of property dealer suspected that he was murdered in an old property dispute. He said that the case would be worked out very soon.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Maurya (42), who was elected gram Pradhan in 2005, was sprayed with bullets by two motorcycle borne miscreants at a pumping set in Saraiyya village of Jalalpur area. Maurya was sitting with his friend Pravin Yadav when the incident occurred. Villagers rushed Maurya to local hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. On receiving information SP City AK Pandey reached there while dog squad was also called. The body was sent for postmortem. Police suspected that he was killed in some old enmity.
