UP teacher strips, parades girls in school

VARANASI: The head teacher of a girl's junior high school in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhdara district was suspended on Monday for allegedly stripping some girl students and parading them in the school compound.
According to sources, the teacher stripped a group of class VIII students and paraded them on school campus for two hours on Saturday . The teacher also filmed them with a mobile phone.
Parents of the girls later reported the incident to the district magistrate and requested him to take appropriate action.Sonbhadra DM Chandra Bhushan Singh told TOI that the teacher has been suspended with immediate effect and departmental investigation has been initiated.
“The general manager of Anpara Thermal Power Project, which runs the school, has also been asked to take appropriate action,“ the DM said.
