Two teachers get into a brawl, cross FIRs lodged

Varanasi: Two teachers lodged FIRs against each other at Gadwar police station in Ballia district on Friday over a scuffle during Nari Chaupal at Block Resource Centre in Chilkahar.
The incident came to light after a video showing a woman teacher beating a male teacher following a heated argument between them during the chaupal went viral on social media on Wednesday. Taking cognizance of the incident, BSA Shiv Narayan Singh ordered a probe into the matter.
The assistant teacher Manvendra Pratap Singh lodged an FIR against the woman teacher Ranjana Pandey under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (assault or use of criminal force) of IPC and SC/ST Act, while Ranjana also lodged a case against Manvendra, Balwant Singh, Arun Pandey, and an unknown person under sections 323, 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 504 (Intentional insult) of IPC.
