Woman, toddler die after falling from moving train

Varanasi: A woman and her 18-month-old daughter were killed while her husband and 5-year-old son suffered grave injuries when they fell off a moving train near Purabpur area under Badagaon police station on Sunday night.
ADCP Gomati Zone Akash Patel on Monday said that Titu (28), a resident of Nahia village under Cholapur police station boarded the Marudhar Express with his wife Puja (25), son Shubham (5), and daughter Shivani (18 month-old) to travel somewhere. Due to huge rush in the general compartment of the train, they somehow managed to sit near the door of the compartment.
Titu informed the police that when the train was passing through Purabpur (Birapatti) area, they lost control due to the huge rush and and fell down, leading to the death of the woman and the toddler.
The incident came to light around 7pm, when some local residents saw the dead bodies and injured persons and alerted the police. Badagaon police reached the site and rushed Titu and Shubham to DDU District Hospital, from where they were referred to the trauma centre of BHU. The police also sent the bodies for post-mortem.
