Three die, 20 injured as bus overturns

Three persons, including two women, were killed while over 20 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned in Saheri area of Nandganj in Ghazipur district on Wednesday. The local residents blocked the road for two hours in protest against the incident. The jam was cleared after police intervention.

Varanasi: Three persons, including two women, were killed while over 20 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned in Saheri area of Nandganj in Ghazipur district on Wednesday. The local residents blocked the road for two hours in protest against the incident. The jam was cleared after police intervention.
According to reports, a private bus carrying passengers from Ghazipur was heading towards Varanasi.

When the bus was crossing through Saheri area it overturned due to damaged road. Three persons died on the spot. They were identified as Dr Akhilesh Singh (56) of Jaunpur, Mandeep Singh (28) of Nonahara and Mamta (35) of Ghazipur.
A woman Pratibha Mishra, who lost her leg in the incident, was referred to Varanasi. Other seriously injured persons including Raj Kishor, Radheshyam, Mohan Gupta, Vinod Verma, Vikas Kumar, Pramjeet, Punam Pandey and Devani were admitted to Ghazipur District Hospital for treatment.
In protest against the incident local resident blocked the road for two hours. The jam was cleared after intervention of senior police and administrative officials.
Youth drowns: A youth Vakil (22) lost his life while bathing in Ahraura dam in Mirzapur district on Wednesday. His body was fished out and sent for postmortem.
